The ".mit" top-level domain (TLD) is for use only by the Institute and its sub-units to facilitate operations in support of the MIT mission.
registration policy
Registration of “.mit” domains is available only to the following MIT units and employees: schools, colleges, and joint programs; academic departments; laboratories; research initiatives and alliances as well as inter-disciplinary centers and programs; administrative offices and units; and academicians (including professors, associate professors, assistant professors, adjunct professors, lecturers, and instructors).
